Romanian Prime Minister Emil Boc greets U.S. Vice President Joe Biden during a recent trip to Romania.

The conference theme is focused on creating new roles for public and private collaboration to promote prosperity between Romania and America.

Prime Minister of Romania, Emil Boc, is to receive an Honorary Doctor of Law Degree from Michigan State University. While visiting East Lansing he is hosting this conference to compare notes on how to improve government’s function and its interaction with the private sector. Several Romanian cabinet ministers will accompany him to participate. Renowned speakers include Bob O’Neil, Executive Director of International City/County Management Association (Topic- Trends in Reinventing Government,) and Cheryl Hilbert, City Manager of Montgomery, OH (Topic- High Performance Organizations).

Conference leaders include representatives from The Smithsonian Institution, US District Court-Nevada District, and the following universities: Michigan State, Florida International, San Diego State, Babes-Bolyai, Delaware and North Dakota.

Please note: Aside from Saturday’s conference there is limited enrollment for a small business-to-business roundtable planned for Friday, May 7, 2010. Key manufacturers are advised to call early.
